Manage all aspects of research operations within the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research (OSVPR), supporting a $1 billion research enterprise comprised of more than 750 persons and liaising with seven research institutes, all academic colleges and commonwealth campuses, a defense university affiliated research center, and supporting more than 5000 university researchers.

In addition to the position of Administrative Assistant to the Associate Dean, responsibilities to the Dean include collect, analyze, organize and maintain current and historical data and information about the College, from university, state and national sources, for reports, presentations and planning documents. Prepare official data materials for major surveys and reports, such as U.S. News and World Report, ASEE surveys, Engineering Workforce Commission. Write/edit portions of the College strategic plan and updates incorporating related information and data. Write/edit reports in response to special requests from University administration and external sources.

Compile information on the areas under the direction of the Associate Dean to develop weekly activity and monthly proposal / award reports. Compile data for yearly proposal and award and expenditure reports, coordination meetings, and patent review meetings. Facilitate and be accountable for the reporting of expenditures, student activity and others necessary from the associate dean's research development account. Assist with the preparation of the strategic plan. Arrange and support the establishment and functioning of key meetings and groups including retreats, study groups, task forces, and councils. Interact with University members, public officials and industry leaders to coordinate activities for the Associate Dean to include calendars, travel, and presentations. Oversee / arrange University and College-wide activities such as conferences, seminars, workshops. Coordinate limited submission research proposal activities, to include collecting proposals, arrangements of review committees and reporting.

Coordinate study institutes including agenda, speakers, budget, travel, and curriculum materials. Generate newsletter, news releases, articles, promotional publications, and mailings. Develop and monitor program and alumni budgets, assist in fundraising efforts, and track alumni membership dues. Represent Executive Director at meetings. Recruit potential applicants for leadership program. Give presentations regarding leadership issues. Compile and code data, run statistics, prepare final evaluation summaries, evaluate speakers, programs, and facilities.
