Role Overview:As an NHS 111 Health Advisor, I promptly respond to calls, taking and recording demographic details and assessing the health and clinical needs of patients using clinical judgment and decision support software (NHS Pathways).Key Responsibilities:Patient Assessment: Conduct health assessments and make appropriate referrals to services such as 999, hospitals, general practice, and nursing services.Risk Management: Identify and address patient risks, including emergency care needs and potential child protection or vulnerable adult issues.Independent Work: Manage own workload, assess and manage risk, and refer issues to the Service Delivery Manager or clinicians as needed.Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of consultations and actions taken using computer software and written records as necessary.Service Delivery: Focus on delivering excellent service despite a diverse and challenging workload.Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other professional colleagues and clinicians.Effective Communication: Use skills to holistically assess patients’ needs, considering cultural, social, and economic factors.Telephone Service: Provide professional and courteous telephone service, managing calls in a reassuring manner.Communication Aids: Utilise translation services and other resources to overcome communication barriers.General Duties:Contribute to the organisation's values and promote a positive image.Support and Training: Support new colleagues, participate in supervision, teaching, and mentorship.Health and Safety: Promote health, safety, and security, and manage equipment and resources efficiently.Engage in personal development, annual appraisals, and training activities.Compliance: Ensure compliance with all statutory and mandatory training, policies, and protocols.Adapt to changing organisational requirements and priorities.Additional Duties: Perform any other duties as required by the line manager.
