Coordinate and implement the School Health Program as mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Department of Education. Care for school aged students who are acutely ill/injured at school. Manage the care of children with chronic health conditions (diabetes, asthma, etc.) in the school setting. Identify children with physical and mental health issues that are impacting their academic success. Work with parents, community organizations, and health care providers to help students succeed. Helped to establish the Mifflin-Juniata Dental Clinic for disadvantaged children by co-writing the start-up grant and serving on the Board of Directors for five years.
