I am an epidemiologist and accomplished health professional with experience in academia, public health, and the private medical sector. As an internationally recognized expert in planning, monitoring and evaluating HIV/AIDS, reproductive, maternal and child health programs, I have worked in over 20 countries in Africa and Asia. I have been a member of international working groups, authored international guidance documents, conducted analyses of health data, and presented at professional meetings that have informed U.S. government and global policy and programs. During the COVID-19 epidemic, I worked for the Hawaii State Department of Health to support testing and mitigation efforts to reduce transmission in schools statewide. In the private sector, I have implemented systems and staffing to grow and effectively manage the operations of a large multi-provider medical practice to support the delivery of high quality care resulting in annual revenue increases.I have taught graduate-level courses in epidemiologic methods, an undergraduate course in global health, and am currently teaching field epidemiology in a post-graduate certification course. I also have extensive experience facilitating workshops for mid-level physician and other public health professionals.
