  In 2010, Kids' Meals delivered OVER 343,340 lunches with a staff of eight and with the help of over 9,000 volunteers! Thank you for your support in the fight against childhood hunger.The first meals on wheels program for children started in 1984. The program was started with one location in North Houston. A second location in East Houston was acquired in 2006. In 2008, Kids' Meals was infused with a new energetic and actively involved Board of Directors that is fulfilling our mission of ending hunger among Houston area children living in poverty. In 2009, Kids' Meals brought on two new staff members and served over 297,000 lunches to hungry children in Houston. Kids' Meals delivers to 1,400 pre-school aged children, living in poverty who are in need of food. Kids Meals delivers nutritious meals directly to the homes of these hungry children, Monday through Friday, year-round. The lunches are free of cost to each family. We deliver lunches out of 2 locations. They are located inside two Neighborhood Centers (Independence Heights and East Houston, Ripley House).
