As President of New Page™, I draw on an extensive breadth of expertise and more than 30 years of award-winning experience in adjudication, counselling, and education, to administer a variety of adjudication, mediation, and arbitration proceedings with fairness and compassion. Most recently, New Page™ has been intimately involved under contract with the Indian Residential Schools Adjudication Secretariat with the adjudication of hearings to determine appropriate levels of compensation for those Aboriginal and First Nations persons subject to various types of abuse while attending residential schools in Canada. This complex and highly delicate work demands both a steadfast commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment for the proceedings and to remaining at once compassionate and objective. It also requires a solid reputation for fairness, strong listening skills, an open mind, and sound judgement. My previous experience has comprised work in support of the victims of crime, criminal injury, and systemic abuse both as an adjudicator and as an advisor to the Attorney General of Ontario. At the same time, I have garnered nuanced experience in teaching and curriculum development as a professor and program coordinator with such institutions as Algonquin College and the Canadian Police College. In these capacities, I have worked hard to educate law enforcement professionals on the best methods and practices for assisting and understanding the issues facing victims of crime and personal trauma. Throughout my career to-date, I been recognized as an excellent problem solver and commended for my intelligence, intuition, and professional integrity. Equipped with advanced training in dispute mediation and negotiation effectiveness from the Negotiation Institute at Harvard Law School as well as a solid background in social work, therapy, and counselling, I provide highly effective ADR to an array of clientele.
