Ruth Copland is a writer; in-depth coach; singer songwriter; and the creator and host of It’s A Question Of Balance® talk radio show and podcast. As an in-depth coach, Ruth works with people who want to establish their own unique way to be fulfilled and happy. She specialises in coaching people in high-profile and leading positions, recognising the distinctive challenges and opportunities created thereby. She is a Professional Member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. Originally from England, Ruth is a citizen of the USA and Britain, and is currently based in the UK, having lived in Santa Cruz, California, for many years. In addition to writing, performing, and recording her own music, Ruth is a published writer and a trained actress and member of Equity; she is a member of the International Association of Women in Radio and Television and the British Society of Authors; she has a BA (Honours) degree in English, and a Master of Science Degree in Counselling (Distinction) with a focus in creative arts therapies; she is a certified Barrett Culture Transformation Tools consultant and coach, and has consulted for clients in the Arts, Business, and Education; she has worked as a business copy-writer and editor for published authors, and has designed and conducted original funded clinical research into the effect of the creative arts in business; she has worked in inner city elementary schools counselling children for the charity Place2Be; she is a Traditional Usui Reiki Master Teacher and practises meditation. It’s A Question Of Balance® talk radio show balances the intellectual with the creative, exploring whether we have more in common than divides us through thought-provoking conversations – out and about with people on the street on different topics, and in the studio with inspiring guests from the arts. Ruth has interviewed hundreds of people including Oscar-winning actors and directors; Pulitzer-prize-winning authors; world-famous artists; multi-million-selling musicians; US and UK politicians; political and environmental activists; and many other highly creative and interesting people. Having lived in the US and UK, Ruth has a transatlantic perspective and understanding which informs her work.
