For over 30 years I have worked in the third sector, the majority of which I have spent working in a range of Income Generation and Marketing roles. In 2013 I was delighted to receive the Gill Astorita Fundraiser of the year award for my work at The Myton Hospices where working with a fabulous team we raised the funds to complete a £7 million capital appeal to build our second In-Patient Unit in Coventry and more than trebled revenue income. We also built the largest single Hospice weekly lottery in the UK and developed a brand described by a researcher as 'as strong as that of a national charity' . Becoming CEO at Myton in 2016 presented a range of different challenges for me but I take particular pride in the significant growth in the number of patients and their families that we now support, achieved by investing in more services and engendering the belief that we can influence outcomes by not only delivering excellent services but by influencing those around us and being the voice of patients and their families.
