As a major gift officer for nonprofits and higher education institutions, I build authentic relationships with donors and create connections between their philanthropic interests and the vision and mission of the organizations I represent. There is nothing more professionally satisfying than breaking the ice and creating valuable donor and prospect partnerships that result in major gifts and lifelong and estate giving commitments. Naturally fond of people with a unique flair for finding the right words and the right tone, I lead donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship in a way that supports meaningful engagement with organizations that deliver local, national, and global impact. As American Technion Society’s major gift officer, I sustained and expanded a robust portfolio of 150 donors and prospects throughout greater Boston, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. Sourcing and pursuing innovative ways to connect New Englanders with the work of Israel’s finest technical institution and developing custom tours for those traveling to Israel, I nurtured our local alumni society and business council. Through board recruitment, network building, and portfolio expansion, I generated total gifts in the high six figures and closed three $1M+ gifts to sustain this top-ranking university. Forging fruitful partnerships with university leaders, faculty, and students enabled me to bring the school’s good work to life in ways that supported ongoing giving. While with the Yiddish Book Center, I helped this nonprofit working to rescue and celebrate Yiddish and modern Jewish literature, secure new donor relationships in previously untapped areas of the country. I also engaged key philanthropists from my own network in the organization’s mission to solidify new commitments including a $1M legacy bequest. Deeply committed to enriching my own community, I have served as a volunteer fundraising consultant for local organizations including the Space Torah Project, Yad Chessed, the Brookline Rotary Club, and Youth & Family Enrichment Services. With an abiding passion for the transformative power of higher education, arts, and culture, I am excited to explore how I can support the good work of my next organization as a senior major gift and planned giving leader.
