A quick summary of what I do:♕ I manage the company’s human resources globally to achieve objectives and competitive advantage by ensuring that we have the right people in the right place at the right time and at the right cost in order to take advantage of opportunities in emerging markets and maximise their full potential;♕ Overcome complexities in global and niche talent acquisition by taking into account social, cultural, economic, legal and business factors of the countries into which the company is expanding; consider the impact of cultural differences on the candidates’ international orientation;♕ Supporting expatriate managers in various countries, review different structures and roles, provide training, performance appraisal and dismissal. Additional activities include global skills management and staff development across international boundaries;♕ Integrate HR best practices across a number of subsidiaries spread in several countries so that the company’s goals can be achieve whilst making them sufficiently flexible as there are significant intercultural differencesThe key is to effectively balance the needs for the whole organisation to be integrated andcontrolled as one, while simultaneously allowing expat managers to evolve and differentiate themselves in order to adapt to the local environment.
