Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management for several community health improvement projects for non-profit health care system that operates 13 hospitals and 90 clinics throughout MN and Western WI: • Leadership: Manage team of up to 7, including 5 consultants, 1 program staff member, and 1 intern. • Manage multiple program budgets totaling over $1MM annually for 3 cost centers and 10 contracts per year. • Reporting: Evaluate and report on program activities and outcomes, and communicate results to stakeholders.• Evaluations: Design multi-year community-based participatory evaluations.• Build relationships with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external, including community residents, community-based organization leadership, and employees.• Strategy and development: Develop and implement community engagement strategies. • Write policies and procedures; designed and implemented pilot to connect patients with community resources.• Grant and proposal writing: Successfully wrote proposal to city of Minneapolis health department to promote healthy beverage consumption in South Minneapolis (grant received); also generated new contract with city. • Developed partnership with Portico Healthnet to co-locate Portico staff in community setting to help community member’s access public health coverage programs and connect to health resources.• Contracts/negotiations: Manage multiple contracts with community organizations.

Managed all programs for a multi-service agency that served over 1,000 clients per year:• Program management: Assisted Executive Director with overall agency management, including financial management/budget for $1.2MM non-profit agency. Also assisted with marketing and grant writing.• Leadership: Supervised teams of up to 20, including 4 program managers and direct service staff.• Responsible for agency leadership when executive director traveled out of country several times a year. Negotiated and managed new and ongoing contracts with Ramsey County and health plans.• Assured compliance with requirements of funders, including United Way, foundations, and government agencies.• Partnerships/relationship building: Built relationships with other community organizations to develop collaborative programs in response to community needs.• Contracts: Managed United Way contracts, including expansion of a contract to expand employment services.

Managed a school-based program for students and families, providing: Physical, dental and mental health services; access to health coverage; parent education and support; information and referral to community resources; English classes and other services for immigrants.• Supervised a culturally diverse team of up to 12, including 2 social workers and 10 paraprofessionals. • Created new on-site mental health clinic for children via a partnership with a mental health provider. • Developed and implemented a computer training and support program for immigrant families (Spanish speaking).
