As a volunteer with the American Red Cross, I get to help people in times of great need. When someone's home burns or floods or quakes and they need to evacuate, our DAT (Disaster Action Team) is there to provide support, hand out basics (sweats, water, comfort kits) and if necessary provide shelter for the night. The proud lead of South DAT 5 we have night rotation every 5 weeks and are on-call from 6pm to 8am during the week and all day on the weekend.
