Current student at the University of Washington's College of Engineering, pursuing Environmental Engineering. I am interested in research and professional experience relevant to the future of sustainable technology. So far, I've had a unique education as I fought to become the only student in Bethel School District to ever simultaneously graduate with an Associates of Arts from Pierce College through the Running Start program, an AICE Diploma with Distinction through the Cambridge Program, and with multiple AP credits. This accomplishment was not only difficult due to rigor, but the communication and persuasion necessary to gain permission.Additionally, I have extracurricular experience assisting electric car conversions, leading my department as a cashier, teaching and serving within my faith community, along with leadership in athletic and educational teams. For example, I founded the Environmental Club at my high school. This entailed finding and exciting a new group of youth, communicating with Pierce County officials to receive donations towards a tree sale fundraiser, organizing tree planting field trips in coordination with Cougar Mountain Middle School's Science Club and professionals from the Nisqually River Project. I was frequently in communication with school administration up the the district level to source and solve recycling problems within Bethel Highschool. We were also able to restore and beautify a natural part of campus and receive certification from the National Wildlife Foundation. This earned our project the title of Certified Schoolyard Native Wildlife Habitat as we incorporated reintroduced native species and posted educational signage. My team also participated in the National Conservation Foundation's Envirothon Competition which tested renewable technology design engineering and knowledge of the environment. In our first, and my only, year of competition we advanced to the state level. At Bethel Highschool I was involved in Class Office for all four years, including through the pandemic. Serving as either class president or secretary, I was able to orchestrate multiple years of schoolwide clothing drives where we donated back into our impoverished local community.Through my Church, I have given hundreds of hours of community service throughout the last few years. This time has taught me valuable teaching skills, communication, event planning, and most importantly dedication. I am confident that these skills will naturally translate to other vocations and have prepared me to manage a variety of tasks.
