As Immediate Past-President of Childhood Cancer International (CCI), I formalized CCI's official relationship as a non-state actor with the World Health Organization, created the CCI-WHO regional committees; was an invited guest speaker at the UN launch of the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer (GICC) held in NYC, served on numerous GICC working groups, developed and oversaw the three-year global childhood cancer awareness campaign entitled, #nomore, and represented 188 member organizations in 93 countries through collaborations with strategic global partners to enhance the cure and transform the care of children and adolescents with cancer around the world.

As CEO of the American Childhood Cancer Organization I have been responsible for the growth of the organization's budget, signature programs and reach to families of children with cancer across the U.S. In addition to being author/editor of eleven books written for children with cancer, their family members and healthcare professionals, I also developed ACCO's two signature awareness programs - GO GOLD and PJammin. Skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, Volunteer Management, Social Media, Fundraising, and Program Development, I am a strong Public Health professional who graduated from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. I am the proud recipient of the U.S. Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Tree of Life Award which honors an individual who has played a major or lasting role, with national impact in improving the quality of life for patients with cancer and their families.
