My primary service is in helping companies make sense out of reams of information - from company sales data to exhaustive internet and some primary research. I help companies understand their target markets and competitive positioning, with a strong focus on identifying growth opportunities such as new products and programs and untapped market segments. I am a strategist and lead market researcher for the Colorado SBDC (Small Business Development Center) TechSource program, which assists Colorado start up companies from aerospace, bioscience, advanced manufacturing, IT, and clean tech with customized research tools and consulting to help drive growth. In this role, I have trained other market researchers to enable TechSource to support more companies. My work has included market research and support for the Pulse technology accelerator for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) and for the Air Force Research Lab Catalyst Campus Accelerator for deep tech companies (aerospace, satellite positioning). I also consulted for Foresight Science and Technology, conducting niche market analyses for recipients of National Institute of Health (NIH) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) phase I awards.I recently served as the market research subject matter expert for the Colorado SBDC Insight program, where I was instrumental in developing the program model for 70 companies, including recruitment and training of a team of market research specialists and content development for the program's learning management system. The program was a major step in implementing a scalable, hands-on market research program.
