I started my quality career with Fyffes, and this is where I learnt the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and communication in supplying the multiples and wholesalers with fresh produce. We took great pride in our work, and it was during this time, that I developed a passion for improving the quality of products and services. Overseeing and obtaining the site’s Soil Association accreditation was a huge achievement. This impacted on the company’s success, with the ability of supplying additional product lines. As a Quality Control Team Lead at Cornelius, I oversee the quality control processes and instrumentation within a GMP environment, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and company standards. I collaborate closely with production, learning processes, improving product quality and implementing process improvements. I believe that quality control is not a solo endeavor, but one that requires the contribution of each department. This belief was enforced, when I successfully led and executed several projects, such as the QC/IT software upgrade that increased analysis capacity and reliability by 50%. Beyond my work life, I enjoy training for all running distances.
