A highly-pressurized and ever-evolving role. I aid the curation of a television news archive spanning 26 years. I work to strict deadlines which include live news bulletins, so accuracy and efficiency is a must. Duties include:-archiving of news and sport packages and b-roll including the input of detailed metadata-editing and archiving using Avid Media Composer and Media Central Cloud-sourcing and ingesting appropriate archive footage for news and sport-sourcing suitable footage for internal documentaries-selling footage to external production companies including RTE, BBC, Netflix and Sky. This includes costings, editing, footage transfer, licence agreements and invoicing.-aid the progression of a significant footage digitization project covering nearly 20 years of archive. This was funded by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, and is an enormous task that requires accuracy, patience and in-depth knowledge of current affairs, modern Irish and European history, and sport.

Autocue operator and production assistant across live and pre-recorded broadcasts in news and sport. This included news bulletins, political debates, panel shows, sport broadcasts and OB productions such as the Six Nations. Duties included:-operation of autocue efficiently and under pressure-ensure studio reads were accurate-print running orders and scripts for presenters, crew and gallery. -be the key liaison between gallery and studio floor. -engage with studio panelists which include Taoisigh, politicians, journalists and other public figures.

Assisted on a number of People's Debates with Vincent Brown in the run up to the 2016 General Election. A very rewarding experience, where I travelled the country every week meeting people from many constituencies. Duties included:-organizing green rooms for candidates, presenter and make-up-liaising with hotel staff regarding health and safety.-organizing seating plans for panelists, and political party members in the audience-operating the microphone for audience questions, ensuring each political party is represented.-communicating with the general public in relation to what subjects people wanted to discuss.-ensuring that advertising about the debate was visible in the local area.

I was a member of the production team for this antiques-roadshow style programme. I travelled the country with John Creedon, visiting different cities in order to find the best objects in the hands of the Irish public and reveal more of Ireland’s social history. Duties included:-organise the arrival of expected contributors.-assess the suitability of unexpected items and their owners, who arrived as part of a wider callout.-communicate regularly with heads of production, fellow PAs and presenters.-film VT segments of on-air contributors, to provide background information for viewers.-ensure health and safety regulations were followed

A busy retail job where I honed many basic but useful skills:-gained good cash handling experience such as till work, banking, invoicing and ordering stock.-organised stock returns and developed strong relationships with suppliers.-helped oversee four stock takes a year-worked four busy Christmas periods.-curate good working relationships with colleagues, customers and centre staff. -trained in new staff members

I was a newsreader for the daily 5pm news bulletin. Duties included:-conducting live and recorded interviews, both in person and by phone, with local councillors, business owners and organisations-learned how to use radio studio equipment.-learned the basics of Adobe Premiere Pro-wrote and published news articles for socials that would touch on local issues-work to strict (live) deadlines.

Worked as a production assistant for the long running breakfast show Ireland AM. Duties included:-ensuring the prompt arrival of guests to makeup and studio-be the main liaison between the gallery and studio floor..-ensure presenters were in studio on time.-ensure models were in studio on time for pre-recorded segments.

Started as Christmas cover in 2010 and was kept on for a number of years. A similar experience to my time in Hughes and Hughes, but gained more experience in writing book reviews, covering book launches, helping customers, conducting stock takes, and working in a much busier environment.
