In this position I had responsibility for faculty mentoring and development, beginning with new faculty orientation and continuing on through tenure and promotion. I oversaw multiple internal grant processes and programming in support of faculty scholarship, faculty-student research, civic engagement, and Teaching & Learning activities. I supervised the process of departmental self-study and external review, the instructor and course evaluation process, and college-wide course scheduling. I had direct responsibility for the student-designed major and the Experiencing the Liberal Arts in the World graduation requirement. I supervised the Office of the Registrar, International Education, the Core Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, and the Boyden Gallery and Fine Arts Collection. I served on multiple bodies designed to improve community and curricular diversity. I oversee academic facilities.

In this position I ran the Office of Academic Services, which served students at every level — from those facing academic dismissal through those applying for national fellowships. I ran the college's advising program. I worked with the DeSousa-Brent Scholars program to advance opportunities for underrepresented students. I served as the college’s ADA officer and disability services coordinator, and oversaw the testing center. I coordinated all probation, dismissal, leave of absence, and withdrawal decisions and procedures. I served as the Dean of Faculty’s delegate to the Academic Policy Committee and the Academic Judicial board, as well as serving as her representative in the grade grievance process. I served on the Behavioral Intervention Team and engaged in crisis management across a wide spectrum of areas. I coordinated support for students in academic difficulty; for those having difficulty adjusting to college for any reason; and for those facing family deaths, accidents, or major illnesses. I worked with parents, both with and without FERPA waivers, to resolve concerns about their students’ well-being.
