I was a professional ballet dancer before a final knee injury caused my course in life to change. Even after that injury, I thought I would train to get "back in shape". But I finally realized the path of dance was over, mentally as much as physically. It was brutal. Much to my surprise, I loved being in a university setting, as I attended Indiana University in order to work with a dance professor I knew. I realized I enjoyed psychology, political science and sociology as I explored thinking of the "how" and "why" we act, as individuals, and collectively, as a society. This led to my "pre-law" undergraduate curriculum and desire to attend law school. Much to my surprise again, I realized I loved transactional courses in law school and sought out any transactional coursework I could find. My favorite law class was estate tax. A highlight from law school was being chosen as a fellow to spend a summer at the United States Treasury Department.From law school, I sought to be an attorney in trusts and estate law. A few twists and turns along the way have certainly reinforced my understanding that life can throw you curveballs and making good decisions is so important even in re-bounding from bad decisions (I've made a few of those)!When my dad passed during COVID, I reflected on my belief that I wished he enjoyed his life more. Those reflections, along with my thoughts about making good decisions and my love for estate planning, created my idea for "The Good Life & Legacy Podcast". My goal is to explore how we can live well, plan well and care for our loved ones with a heavy emphasis on estate planning matters. I believe estate planning is a part of feeling good about yourself and making good decisions. The podcast has certainly been a labor of love and I hope to continue it and see it transition through phases, as I figure out what works and to help those who watch it!I have my own law office in the Village of Williamsville, where I live as well, and focus on trusts and estate law. My husband and I have two children. Our family enjoys our beloved pets, our dog and two cats. My daughter adores good books and animals.
