I regularly welcome a group of students and staff from the National Star College to join our work parties, where they learn practical outdoor skills.Leading another group of volunteers in managing a vegetable garden and allotment, and working with the Long Table at Brimscombe to improve their outdoor space; this group includes members with additional support needs who enjoy these gardening groups for their wellbeing as well as the practical tasks.

Senior Manager within the Banner Student development team, managing between 6 and 21 team members in 2 or 3 scrum teams, in Australia, Dubai and India, within a wider organisation which has offices and employees in a number of global locations, primarily the US and India. I was both a people and project manager and in 2016 successfully managed the on-time delivery of a major development project which included team members from around the globe in addition to the 2 teams reporting directly to me. The Banner Student component of the transformation of the Banner UI from Oracle forms to Java based technology was the largest piece of the overall project and saw 1500 forms converted and 22,000 test cases written and executed in a year. Maintaining team motivation and ensuring the project hit its major milestones were the biggest challenges. The project also meant close working partnerships with the managers of parallel projects and with partner companies, responsive decision-making and continuous progress monitoring. I also worked with the other SDMs and Directors in the Banner organisation, co-ordinating and improving our processes. From the start of 2020 my role and teams focused on delivery of Banner solutions to Ellucian's EMEA customers.The other key part of my role was as a people leader, supporting the development of my direct reports and of the scrum teams in which they operated. Supporting their learning and career development were extremely important to me and I have acted as a mentor to a number of team members past and present.

Manager within the development team for the Banner Student product, managing a team of 7 in India, Dubai and France. This role allowed me to build my skills as a team leader and project manager into those of a line-manager with responsibility for the work and deliverables of my team as well as their personal and professional development. I was responsible for managing specialised advanced technical projects, leading my team and providing work guidance to them. I also worked with other managers in planning and delivering the wider goals and ‘roadmap’ of the R&D organisation.

I continued to work for the same employer and had a number of roles - Project Management, Business Analysis, Testing.Working with Agile Scrum and Kanban software development methodologies, producing enhancements to the Banner Student system for the UK and International market.Ellucian was formed in January 2012 following the merger of SunGard Higher Education and Datatel.

Employer designs and delivers administrative software (Banner) for universities. My role as a functional consultant included business analysis, functional requirements design, high-level software design, testing, user training, within a development team.

Company delivered project management and consultancy for SITS who provide administrative software to UK universities, as well as its own software for university Accommodation management. My role consisted of delivery of training and consultancy to clients on the SITS software, plus the Dolphin Accommodation software.
