In 2020, I co-launched Building Research Solutions Ltd which offers science-based solutions for the construction sector, acting as a bespoke R&D department, and I am a Director and theme leader.In 2013, I completed my undergraduate degree in Environmental Geoscience and in 2014, a Master's in Carbon Capture and Storage, from the University of Edinburgh. In 2020, I successfully defended my PhD at Edinburgh Napier University which focused on solar thermal technology, sustainable resource use and design and life cycle assessment. During my third and fourth years I was a Unit driver (car, minibus and Cat C truck) I also gained organisational skills as an administration assistant in my fourth year, dealing with emails, phone calls and general secretarial jobs.I carried out assessments of leadership tasks for potential Army Cadet Force Instructors, chaperoned 15/16 year old girls while they were on work experience with the Army and was trusted with numerous tasks as a senior cadet, including long distance driving details and the management and training of junior cadets.
