Ruth Sheehan is an independent career facilitator, consultant and coach. She has designed and delivered career development programs for large and small businesses, university students, non-profit organizations and individuals for over twenty-five years. Her programs have been completed by over 4,000 participants in the U.S., Canada and Europe. She is the founder of Lifework Directions LLC, devoted to enhancing career satisfaction, contribution and success for individuals and organizations. Ruth provides career coaching and development for individuals at all levels, and consults with organizations to develop and enhance their internal talent management processes and tools. She is also a certified Career Development Facilitator E-learning Instructor for the U.S. National Career Development Association. Ruth’s passion is helping people identify work that matches their unique combination of talents, personality characteristics, interests, motivations and values. She then equips them with effective job search skills to find corresponding opportunities that are both personally and practically rewarding. She believes individual career development in alignment with organizational and client goals creates lasting return on investment for all concerned. Ruth is a teacher and communicator by nature and training, highly skilled in creating and delivering interactive learning experiences. She is especially effective in facilitating personal and professional growth. Prior to founding Lifework Directions, Ruth worked for the IBM Corporation for almost twelve years in positions of increasing responsibility including technical support, training, management, and leadership development. She has also taught in special education and university settings.
