In addition to the role described below I am now overall commercially leading our work across Consumer, Industrial and Energy.I'm working with the team to balance our portfolio of proactive commercial activities for the short and long term and focusing on developing the commercial team and wider commercial engagement.

I have responsibility for sales, and business growth through key accounts and strategic marketing for the Consumer target market verticals where I believe we will have the greatest impact. My team invests in thought leadership and technology capabilities to enable us to stay at the cutting edge and to best deliver real commercial value for our clients.We work across a wide range of consumer products/services at all stages of innovation from front end concept generation, tech strategy, prototyping, design & development, through to transfer of robust designs into manufacture and scaling implementation of services. We focus on sectors where there is significant technical innovation potential including CPG/FMCG, consumer electronics and appliances (including sports & fitness) and connected spaces (e.g. theme parks). My commercial team work closely with our programme management and technical colleagues to put together the right team to deliver on projects for clients. We draw on the skills from across our 800 strong team of engineers, designers, consultants and scientists, who bring significant depth in fluidic delivery, biology, novel sensor systems, AI/ML, robotics, RF communications, and digital services.I continue to have personal business development impact particularly focused on North America. This includes working with new & existing clients to build long lasting relationships, I drive inbound and outbound sales, contract negotiation and I have commercial responsibility for the delivery of projects.As part of the Leadership team for our Industrial, Consumer, Energy division (one of 3 divisions at CC) I work on long term strategy for the division as we scale, and I’m particularly focused on development the commercial skills of the wider team.I was based in Boston from 2015 to 2020 after I led the relocation to Boston of a small team from my division to enable us to better serve clients in the North American business.

I collaborated on the Open Innovation research in the Centre for Technology Management in the Institute of Manufacturing (IfM). I was involved with providing input to student projects, ongoing research projects and regularly presenting at and supporting facilitation, of executive education programmes.Since 2006 I've been an active participant in the Open Innovation Industrial forums that are coordinated by IfM. The forums include Open Innovation leaders from across industry to share & develop best practice for Open Innovation.From Oct 2010 to May 2015 I was part of the leadership team coordinating the Food & FMCG Value Chain Open Innovation Forum.

In this role I created and implemented the Open Innovation and Technical Intelligence strategy for the Kodak European Research Centre to enable the team to have the tools and approaches to achieve our mission of identifying technology opportunities for Kodak from across the European region.I was extensively involved with a variety of innovation communities forums, participating in multiple networking events and regularly representing Kodak through presentations and panels regionally, nationally and internationally.

Senior Scientist posts across Kodak, posts included...1. Focusing on the ‘customer’ for stimulation for new projects, I gathered and utilised voice-of-the-customer information for a range of consumer diagnostics and medical imaging projects. This role was based in the Medical Research Centre in Kodak HQ, Rochester, USA. 2. Feasibility assessment for the manufacture of a photographic hardener. This involved chemical process development, scale-up work and selection of the most suitable delivery system for this chemical. 3. I initiated a photovoltaic research project and took the organic dye sensitised system from inception to working prototype and established a solar cell laboratory. 4. Involvement in establishing a quantitative quality assessment for digital cameras

I managed a project involving the development of a fragrance encapsulation system for use within packaging applications in the food/pet food/drinks areas of Masterfoods.
