John Yi is a nonprofit advocate fighting for policies that impact our families, immigrants, public health, and the environment.Ruthy takes the lead in various pivotal responsibilities. This includes spearheading onboarding processes and continuous training initiatives for both new and returning volunteers, all while nurturing a cohesive and supportive community atmosphere. To ensure effective voter engagement, Ruthy strategically devises outreach strategies tailored to our district's diverse demographic using tools like PDI. This involves meticulously curating outreach materials to resonate with the unique needs and perspectives of our expansive constituency. Furthermore, Ruthy plays an integral role in the collaborative design and implementation of the campaign's internal structure and strategy, specifically focusing on field operations and communications to maximize our outreach and impact.

Team Rubicon is a veteran-led humanitarian organization that serves global communities before, during, and after disasters and crises.Ruthy is talented at cohesively merging an office manager, project coordinator and executive assistant roles into an Executive Coordinator at Team Rubicon. They manage day-to-day office operations, including supplies and equipment management, on-site visitor coordination, and managing conference rooms. They are responsible for streamlining office policies and procedures in-turn enhancing workplace productivity and morale. Additionally, they lead event planning and on-site management for all staff development retreats, leadership development conferences and holiday parties. They provide comprehensive administrative support to Team Rubicon’s Executive team, managing calendars, travel, media correspondence and communications. They prepare and edit documents, presentations, and reports for internal and external communications. They support execution of projects across various departments, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to scope.

Working under the Alumni and Parent Relations office at the University of Puget Sound. Input data from Excel into business management/ donor relations platform ranging from demographic information to volunteer interests. Produce creative graphics utilizing Canva, searching University archives for pictures, brochures, and posters for Instagram, Facebook, and in-person events. Communicate with various constituents and stakeholders through email and Facebook/Instagram interactions.

I am a Peer Mentor through the Student Center for Accessibility and Accommodation (SAA) at the University of Puget Sound. I work with students who have services by mentoring them through the trials, tribulations, and joys of an undergraduate education.

Researched restorative justice and policing practices in public schools to help make classrooms safe for marginalized students. Research process included searching published scholarly articles, movies, popular readings, and data analysis. I reported my findings through a poster board informational setting in the campus community. Resident Community Coordinator (RCC) at the University of Puget Sound for on-campus housing for undergraduate students. I personally oversaw thirty students and supported their housing needs. Worked within a team of twelve RCCs with our department covering over 300 students. Gained skills including conflict management, effective communication and team building.

Communicated with constituents with elevated questions or concerns by maintaining calm demeanor and validating concerns while also educating on assemblymember’s stance. Completed various tasks including researching donors, sending mass email, phone banking, and thanking donors for their participation in campaigns.

I worked as an intern for Congressman Brad Sherman in his district office in Sherman Oaks, CA. Developed communication skills by helping constituents via the phone, online or in person. Transcribing updates through the media and Congressman Sherman. Grew analytical skills through researching the community, events, and public policy. Worked at in person events to connect constituents to their Congress person and inform them on policy changes.
