De arbeidsvoorwaarden en -omstandigheden voor verkeersvliegers, die inmiddels vanzelfsprekend lijken, zijn niet vanzelf tot stand gekomen. De VNV heeft in de bij 90 jaar van haar bestaan een groot aandeel gehad in de belangenbehartiging en professionalisering van de beroepsgroep. En zij staat nog steeds, onverminderd voor aandacht voor vliegveiligheid, arbeidsvoorwaarden en arbeidsomstandigheden namens de professionals die zij vertegenwoordigt. Vanuit de dagelijkse praktijk brengen de leden waardevolle kennis en ervaring mee naar de vakbond en beroepsvereniging die de VNV is. Zo heeft de VNV altijd de benodigde invloed gehad. Dat moet zo blijven.In het dagelijks bestuur bepalen we gezamenlijk de richting om zo goed mogelijk de doelstellingen van de vereniging voor onze leden te realiseren. Binnen de VNV ben ik gegroeid tot specialist op het gebied van pensioenen, crewsterkteplanning en indelingen en betrokken bij geweest bij diverse cao's. In de rol van vice-president van deze mooie vereniging ben ik verantwoordelijk voor alle beroepsinhoudelijke zaken waar de VNV zich voor inzet, zowel op individueel niveau als voor het beleid. Tevens houd ik mij bezig met de vertegenwoordiging van de VNV in politiek Den Haag, zowel direct als via de Vakcentrale voor Professionals (VCP). Pensioenen is daarbij een bijzonder aandachtspunt.

Sinds 2017 heb ik die taak overgedragen en richt ik mij op het opzetten en aansturen van Expertise Platformen. Deze moeten bijdragen aan een brede lange termijn borging van kennis en kunde binnen de vereniging.

As technical director at Jora Solutions I am responsible for the creation and delivery to our customers of our core product Aerial Patroller. Both the design of the technical architecture and major parts of the implementation are part of my job. As a company we aim at keeping up with the latest technologies to be able to provide the most value for our customers.

In this function I represent the IT needs of employees and students of the Faculty of sciences (FEW) and the Faculity of Earth and Life sciences (FALW) at the VU. My job is to ensure continuity of research and education on the short and long term by making sure that the IT infrastructure and service meet the complex demands of the Bèta faculties.My main occupation will entail the migration of the IT services of those faculties into the hands of the Campus IT department (UC-IT). Due to the complex IT requirements of FEW and FALW part of this process is to define new products and services which are currently not included in the portfolio of the UC-IT.I aim at cost-effective IT solutions for the long term that meet the typical research requirements of a bèta faculty.

In this function my role is to manage the migration of all IT facilities of FEW (the exact sciences department of the VU) into the hands of the Campus IT Department, UC-IT. Due to the complexity of the IT requirements in FEW, the default product portfolio does not suffice as it is. New specialised products are being developed to ensure continuity of research and education in FEW.
