At Samskip Logistics in charge of the business unit Reefer Vessels.P&L responsible for a fleet of 7 reefer vessels. Focus on optimisation, efficiency, managing cost, technical management, exploring market opportunities and delivering the best possible product to the customers. From Nov 2017 till Feb 2017 temporarily also managing the Samskip warehouse Frigocare, a coldstore in Rotterdam with room for 14.000 pallets of frozen goods, border inspection point and daily crossdocking activities. RWG is the most modern terminal in the world and maximally automated. In this highly automated environment Seamark adds the expertise and flexibility to provide the best possible reefer product to RWG and its customers. The mission has been completed (2017) which was to set up the monitoring business on RWG terminal. From an empty terminal to a throughput of approx 4000 reefers monthly, Seamark Monitoring is able to provide 24/7 connecting, disconnecting, temperature monitoring and repair services to all reefer equipment on RWG, covering 10+ shipping lines with each specific wishes and requirements.Additional to reefer monitoring and maintenance Seamark Monitoring also provides additional services such as emergency box repairs, inspections and also genset handling and repairs.

In a partnership approach between Maersk Line and APM Terminals Rotterdam, performance should be transformed to and kept at excellent level.This function is responsible for facilitating, driving and executing improvement initiatives and managing supplier performance together with the Rotterdam APMT terminal, to ensure high performance and stability of this important mainliner hub.Achieved reduction of voyage waste (vessel bunker cost), reduction of waiting hours for pilots and tugs, improved process & mitigation of (safety-related) operational delays.Most importantly realised establishment of hub operation centre, consisting of terminal and line staff, effectively avoiding cost of several million USD annually with ever increasing potential.

Leading a project to optimise the flow and handling op empty damaged containers in region Northern Europe. The function is based within the Northern Europe Liner Operations Cluster.The project is cross-functional in nature and dealing with country agencies, the NEU liner operations department and global equipment. The goal is to bring structure and optimise the positioning and repair of empty damaged containers. Current processes and systems are not optimally effective in dealing with these exceptions thus generating significant additional cost.This includes establishing the measurements, stabilising the new process and anchoring it in the existing organisation with the aim to allow the business to improve even further after project finalisation.

Working remotely for the Global Equipment department with responsibility for all Maintenance and Repair of container-related equipment in Europe, including North Africa (Mediterranean). As from 1 May 2012 the geographical scope includes the whole of Africa and West Central Asia region.Focus is on compliance by countries to global policies, trend analysis, quality and timeliness of repairs.Engineering manager will provide agencies with technical audit training in the regions under his scope.Additionally leading a project responsible for creation of global repair hubs to enable repairing faster, cheaper and at consistently high quality in certain key locations.

Managing a satellite team of equipment experts within the Equipment Optimisation Leap. The Leap is a cross-functional project dedicated to radically change the way we deal with container related equipment and strive for increased simplicity and cost-savings.The Leap has high priority and mandate within the organisation and reports directly to the COO and the Liner Management Board.

Managing the global maintenance and repair operations department of Maersk Line. This includes responsibility for budget, policies, staff, management reporting, all with regard to maintenance and repair of container related equipment. (dry & refrigerated containers, gensets, powerpacks, etc. )

Responsible for global provision of reefer spare parts to owned and chartered vessels (approx 600 vessels in total). Control over land based vessel stocks with the aim to operate with lowest possible stock.Participation in manning the reefer support 24 hour duty phone providing immediate technical assistance to ships electricians in case of reefer malfunctions.

Acceptance testing of new developed operational system. Analysis of inland transport modalities.
