As a Senior Editor, I was the quality owner of the books that I handle and also the process owner of how the books progress. I look at the initial stages of the book, with author onboarding and coaching. I’m responsible for managing 2 CDEs’ performance and quality and being a constant mentor to them. In addition, I also look after editor recruitment and hiring.

Along with CDE responsibilities, I started taking on some Senior Editor responsibilities by working with onboarding authors from the start, coaching them to start writing the book, helping them in structuring and adding value to the content, and managing products (books) end to end.I was also responsible for training and mentoring new editors and checking on their progress till they become live with their work.

As a Content Development Editor (CDE), I'm in charge of a book project's development process, from evaluating the initial drafts of the chapters till the final draft is complete and ready for production. As a CDE, I collaborate with tech SMEs & expert developers turned authors to assist with them curating content, language checks, and creativity to enhance readability. In the process, I also collaborate with the internal team of product managers, acquisition editors, and production team throughout the book process to get the book ready for sending to press with desirable quality and in a planned timeline.

As a technical editor on a book project, I work closely with the authors of book based on various IT technologies. I work on reviewing and editing the technical content of the book provided by the authors. Working on reviewing the book involves researching various IT frameworks, languages, and tools. Apart from this, examining the codes and testing them for accuracy is a significant part of my job role.
