As IP Administrator, I am helping our clients with managing all types of IP rights, from designs to patents.As European Design Attorney, I am helping our clients build a registration strategy for their design(s), as well as reviewing drawings and requirements.

The position was a combination of an administrator and a consultant, giving me the opportunity to work with a diverse range of tasks:- Preparing a registration strategy for a design or family of designs, which includes reviewing representations;- Assessing search reports for designs;- Handling and responding to refusal notifications or invalidity applications for designs;- Assisting trademark consultants with preparing and filing trademark applications, or responding to office actions and oppositions for trademarks.- Assisting clients, whether they require more information about the IP rights they have, or the options they have for securing additional IP rights.

While working at Guardian IP Consulting, I focused solely on designs, finding this area extremely interesting. The projects I had been involved in varied in scale, from fairly easy Community Registered Designs, to complex design registration projects, spanning across several continents.As a Design Consultant for Guardian, I worked primarily with:- building the strategy for the registration of a design or family of designs;- preparing and/or reviewing design drawings;- handling and responding to refusal notifications or invalidity applications from various IP offices/third parties, either directly or through local agents.

Responsibilities•Contacting customers and potential customers, either presenting our services, or trying to find new ways in which we can serve them.•Negotiating contracts and orders with both new and previous clients. I was also receiving a commission based on the negotiated contracts and orders.•Recommending clients the best means of protecting their intellectual property, and afterwards supervising the full procedure of registering their trademark, industrial design, or patent. (Over 200 projects)•Supervising and building the dossier for oppositions, appeals, law suites, or other legal steps, together with our lawyersResults•Attracting important clients and projects•Managing a portfolio of over 120 clients (industries ranging from entertainment, to engineering, commerce, agriculture, etc.) •Contributing towards a favourable outcome in most of my clients legal steps against third parties.•Gained experience in client targeting and preparation of information guides for meetings or telephone discussions.
