As a reliable, organised and diplomatic problem-solver I have more than 20 years of experience in working on the intersections of language, data, archives and technology, and business, education, science and government. I am an experienced advisor, board member, management team member, project manager, computational linguist and trainer/lecturer. As Veenentaal, I created redekundig.nl, a website for parsing sentences (redekundig en taalkundig ontleden). I published the board games Preservia(.nl, about digital preservation) and Strafworp(.nl, about korfball).

You can gain insight into how events of the near and distant past influence our lives today. Digital preservation plays an important role at the National Archives. Our collection includes several petabytes of digital files. As a Preservation Officer, I am responsible for the development, implementation, dissemination and keeping up to date of our preservation policy, Preservation Watch and preservation practice.This requires an active role in national and international initiatives related to digital preservation.
