Connecting practice and theory.I have been doing this for years as a trainer for numerous organizations within the public and private sector. From the ministries of The Hague to high-tech industrial areas.Simply put, “the profession” is together making beautiful things for customers. These are often complex and technological solutions for demanding customers. Not as an end in itself, but as a means so that the customer can achieve the desired effects and benefits.Depending on the size and the way of working together, we call it a project, a program, a portfolio or an agile release train.I like to use recognized and proven frameworks. Because those frameworks have proven to work. Methods have value because principles are important. These frameworks trump casual opinions because a lot of knowledge and experience is incorporated within frameworks. These are frameworks such as Agile Programme Management, Agile Projectmanagement, AgileSHIFT, IPMA, MoP, MSP, P3O, PRINCE2, PRINCE2 Agile and Scrum.Personally, I do not only want to master those frameworks at a "practitioner" level (ie in practice), but I like also to be able to provide training on them. If you can explain it to others, then you really understand it. That is why I am an accredited trainer in all those frameworks.Theory and practice belong together. What I tell in my training, I do in practice during consultancy or interim work. What I learn in practice, I process again in the training. That completes the cycle. It has been working for me for 20 years, since I worked together with my friends in the Oppidum company.I am also an assessor for IPMA project management certifications for more than 25 years, both in the Netherlands and internationally. It means a lot to me that not only the professional association, but also international companies, have been confident in my assessment of project professionals for so long.My first study was psychology in Groningen. I was a working student and worked as a bus driver. For 2 years I combine my core activities again with the beautiful profession of bus driver. Now with the regional transport in Utrecht, as frequently as my agenda allows. It was and still is one of my passions. That cycle of life has been closed as well.
