As the supervisor of our scholarship funds, I work with donors, advisory committees and local partners to receive, review and award scholarships to students in the Greater Kansas City area. In the time that I have been at the Community Foundation, I have helped implement a new software platform - Award Management by Blackbaud, to manage our scholarship processes. The best part of my day is sending out award notifications to students to let them know one of our donors has chosen to support their post secondary endeavors!

• Coach and develop a team of 12 associates in the Juniors and Men’s Active departments.• Provide excellent customer service by being an active leader on the sales floor. Use feedback from customer surveys to ensure we are creating a service oriented environment and are assisting and connecting with each customer. • Manage a $5 million dollar department, which exceeded plan and LY by 8% in 2014.• Plan and execute events in the department, creating individual sales goals per associate and holding the team accountable by giving immediate and consistent feedback.• Developed a plan of action for obtaining our credit goal, and exceeded the department goal by creating motivating contests, incentives and provided consistent feedback by observing associates on the sales floor. Currently, we are exceeded our season credit goal as a department.• Participate in several committees within the store to help drive engagement of associates and create a fun work environment.

• Taught Life Skills in the Afterschool Enrichment Academy to 7-9th graders that were part of a scholarship program to see kids to and through college.• Maintained accurate data relevant each student and followed up with action plans, rewards and recognition and needed interventions to ensure success in the program and at school.• Built rapport and meaningful relationships with students through an effective classroom community, one-on-one meetings, school visits and Scholar Village Network meetings. • Networked with parents/guardians, teachers, school personnel and other stake holders to ensure that proper the support was given to students in the program. • Collaborated on several committees, including the curriculum committee where I helped to write curriculum for 7th grade Life Skills and E.G.O. where we mentored 9th grade young ladies as they transition into high school.

• Managed a before and after school program at Garfield Elementary in the Kansas City, Missouri School District. • Built relationships within the school with the principal, parent involvement representative and classroom teachers in order to support the school by providing a relevant and effective after school program and caring community.• Formed a site council, consisting of members from the school, the parents and families of the program, and community and business partners in order to foster a venue to communicate about community development.• Maintained strict adherence to all state licensing and SACERS guidelines. • Hired, trained and evaluated a staff of 10 people.
