Reporting to the Senior Vice-President of News and Station Operations. Led the rebuilding of the Global News brand in the digital space as a principle architect of the ‘digital first’ strategy to transition 400+ employees from legacy broadcast operations to cutting edge digital newsrooms. Created and built award-winning, cross-platform new investigative reporting unit that shifted the Global News organization away from daily news to original, enterprise journalism. Successfully integrated 39 Corus radio news and music stations (brands and digital teams) under the Globalnews.ca brand with one centralized publishing platform to increase ratings, boost production efficiency, reduce duplication and costs. Launched an independent digital business development unit to find syndication partners and develop digital revenue opportunities such as branded and native content initiatives. F’19 revenue for strategic partnerships and syndication was up approximately +20% YoY. Executive editor for revised 2nd edition of Global News Journalistic Principles and Practices with emphasis on digital and social media journalism. Award of excellence recipient for co-authoring the new Radio Television Digital News Association Code of Ethics, in common use in almost all Canadian journalism organizations.

Reporting to the Senior Vice-President for Airline Operations and the President of Skyservice Airlines. Executive in charge of external media relations and internal public relations for a Canadian start-up airlines launched as a partnership between Roots, one of Canada’s top leisure clothing brands and Skyservice, a well-known Canadian charter airlines. This position was an opportunity to combine a background in aviation and travel with news communications and skills after more than 12 years in media industry. The airline was bought out by Air Canada after only four months, whereby I was immediately asked to return to continue my employment with Global News.
