Rachel Wallstrom is a professional in their field. Colleagues describe her as "During her Summer Fellowship with Magical Bridge Foundation in 2018, Rachel Wallstrom spent most of her internship with MBF in 2018 working on prototyping different ways of making Magical Bridge Playgrounds more inclusive to people with visual impairments. Her work involved using CAD to design parts for different projects and CAM using a CNC laser processing machine. One of her innovations was a variation of the slate-and-stylus that would greatly simplify the process of making braille. MBF often hands out stickers that have the word Kindness is Magical printed on them at MBF events. In one R&D project during her fellowship, Rachel designed and manufactured jigs that allow someone with the developmental age of a toddler to be able to braille words onto on of MBF's stickers. In one summer, she went from know very little computer aided-design to designing and manufacturing great products that Magical Bridge Foundation uses for its community engagement programs. Her capstone project for the fellowship was a prototype of an tactile information station that had a scale map featuring scaled models of Magical Bridge play-equipment. Rachel also participated in our Community Engagement Program where she helped present a variety of the foundation's hands-on activities. Several of the participants in these programs remarked at how much Rachel's presence added to the success of the events. We are greatly appreciative to Rachel for her work. Not only did she help Magical Bridge be more inclusive to people with visual Impairments, but she lead the our foundation on a new journey for how we are meaningfully involving volunteers and interns into the prototyping and product development process to produce innovations that help spread the magic of inclusion. Rachel is a quick learner, a self starter, an amazing person and so fun to work with. I would not have any hesitation to recommend Rachel for any work that involved using her amazing skills. "
