I support and deliver science programs for school groups that visit Lawrence Hall of Science. I travel to deliver outreach programs to school and community groups and support museum operations, including supervising exhibits and interacting with visitors.

I currently coach girls who compete at the Gold level in the Xcel program. I have also coached Silver Xcel level and recreational gymnastics classes.

Continued with research initiated during doctoral dissertation to examine impacts of environmental change on chipmunks. Also worked to develop undergraduate curriculum modules focused on using museum specimens to understand the impacts of global change on organisms.

Science from Scientists is a nonprofit organization focused on enhancing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math education for middle school students. I served as an instructor to deliver hands-on lessons in biology and earth science.

Stanford, Ca

Served as an instructor for the High School Program of the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes. This residential summer program provides an opportunity for academically talented high school students to take a course on the Stanford campus. I developed and taught a course on animal behavior.

Examined responses to climate change by chipmunks in Yosemite National Park. Led a field research team to examine patterns of habitat use by two chipmunk species, using live trapping, radiotelemetry, and analyses of microhabitat characteristics.

The Prison University Program provides inmates at San Quentin prison with the opportunity to work towards an associate of arts degree. I served as a volunteer tutor and instructor for a developmental math class and as a co-instructor for an introductory biology course (lecture & lab).

Suriname

I served as a field assistant under Dr. Sue Boinski on a project exploring the behavior and ecology of brown capuchin monkeys. My responsibilities included conducting all-day follows of capuchin troops to record behavioral interactions. I also gathered GPS data and carried out monthly surveys to assess flowering and fruiting patterns of trees utilized by the capuchins.

I worked with a team to conduct community service projects in several areas. Projects included Habitat for Humanity, disaster relief following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, education work in rural Utah, and a fire-related project with the U.S. Forest Service.

I worked with Professor Jack Bradbury's field research group to study vocal communication in Costa Rican parrots.
