I grew up wanting to work in the staffing industry. Actually, that’s not true. I fell into the industry like everyone else and two and a half decades later have an opinion or two about workforce related trends. I tend to speak my mind and embrace a rebellious approach to anything that smells like status quo. In recent years, I've started a company and took it from an idea through raising capital, scaling, and building a team through an exit to a large strategic. As such, I’m somewhat obsessed with entrepreneurs – and by entrepreneurs, I don’t care if you’ve started a company but rather if you are passionate enough about something to take the reins and run with it. My “LinkedIn” skills include all those things like leadership, strategy, coaching, and such that I’m supposed to claim but really I’m most skilled at untangling fly fishing line from rhododendron bushes. That too has taken me years to perfect.
