About Rwenshaun Miller

Mental health change agent and author, Rwenshaun Miller, is a therapist, speaker, and social entrepreneur. As a licensed professional counselor, Rwenshaun services individuals spanning all ages, with a goal of helping each person understand and take accountability for their mental wellness.Through his journey after being diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, he founded Eustress Inc., a nonprofit organization that focuses on raising mental health awareness through conversation and activities to break the stigma associated with mental illness in black and brown communities. Rwenshaun has worked in the mental health field for over a decade, understanding the challenges faced by individuals with limited resources, and looks to provide ways to address these needs. As Founder and Executive Director of Eustress Inc., he runs the organization with a purposeful approach to help others identify and overcome challenges to achieve a healthier and productive lifestyle through keynotes, seminars, and workshops. He is the author of Injured Reserve: A Black Man’s Playbook to Manage Being Sidelined by Mental Illness and launched the “Pathway to Eustress” campaign to get the book into the hands of 100,000 inmates in jails across the country. He also organized "Let's Talk About It" Mental Health Awareness walks to help break the stigma. This year Rwenshaun led a speaker series focused on mental health in the workplace for BlueCrossBlueShield of North Carolina and Capital One's leadership cohort and human resources group to 3,000+ employees. In 2019, he led a Tedx Talk on The Power of Embracing Labels to Address Mental Illness and served as speaker at the Annual Mental Health America Conference where he spoke on Acknowledging the Uncomfortable Barriers to Culturally Competent Care. Rwenshaun has been featured on WSOCTV and NBC Charlotte, to share his mission of spreading mental health awareness and was named by Huffington Post as a Top Black Influencer to Collaborate with in 2017. In 2016, he was recognized as a Top 30 Under 30 in Charlotte recipient with the Charlotte Black Chamber of Commerce and Elevate Lifestyle Magazine. Rwenshaun holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montreat College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from UNC-Chapel Hill, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in International Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
