Throughout 2015 I spend much time abroad executing an export strategy to grow Volcanic in Asia, Australia and Japan. As part of the Ministerially led Northern Powerhouse delegation it was great to see how politics and business combine as the UK strives to progress overseas.A fixed year of service in 2016 as a North West Export Champion will allow me to help other business consider and expand abroad.

I was kindly invited to become a business mentor for the RAEng in recognition for building a global business from scratch within 6 years. As a mechanical engineer I completed the Engineering Leadership Awards in 2005, which provided the foundations for building a business and being a confident leader. Through this role I wish to help other businesses, especially in the fields of automation and using software creatively.

As a mechanical engineer in the MoD Rob's career began supporting the bomb disposal robots used by the Army and the Metropolian Police.Rob's software and technical skills helped him solely develop a substantial web based applications for the Ministry of Defence. Soon after he was responsible for developing internal security techniques designed for securing extranet (external intranet) applications.
