In this position, we provide bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax filing, month end book close and other financial services that are customized for each client. I had to go after the insurance companies more often than not due to them not wanting to pay on the claims, even though the claims were legitimate. I also worked accounts over 90 days, collecting from Medicare, Medicaid and other 3rd party insurances. In order to accomplish this work a variety of computer systems were utilized for verification of benefits which include insurance websites, a system called EPIC, as well as a system called Star Panel which housed all patient chart information. Once verification was completed it was then put into a system called MediPak, and was then converted over to Protect which would conclude the verification transfer. We are a medical supply company specializing in electrotherapy units, better known as TENS units. I am responsible for all the insurance billing to medicare, medicaid & other 3rd party insurances. I also handle all the accounts receivable, and collections.

I processed medical claims daily for the Federal dept from the President of the US down to the postal worker in our electronic system. I also trained temps and permanent staff on our electronic system. I trained over 120 people in the time I was there. I was also tech support on the claims floor, as well as a business analyst. I made sure that our electronic system stayed up to par, in order to efficiently meet our customers needs

My duties would have put me at a computer in which I could lead the Seal team in and out of enemy terrritory. I could have also flown planes, and controlled other things as necessary all from my seat at the computer. This job would require alot of cognitive thinking, math skills, and graphing. It also would require top security clearance. I was given a Honorable Medical Discharge in February, 1999.
