Ryan is a Sustainability Professional who is passionate to strive for Carbon Neutral/ Net Zero and climate-resilient community with collaboration with different stakeholders. He has over 21 years of experience on Sustainability management at corporate, community, campus and building levels. He leads more than 60 Green community and building projects in Southeast Asia, including Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland, Singapore, Taiwan and Macau. His projects or managed buildings have also been received international awards and certifications.Currently, Ryan is working with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) as an Assistant Director of Campus Facilities and Sustainability (Campus Sustainability) and responsible for development and implementation of PolyU’s Campus Carbon Neutrality roadmap and strategic plan, driving the campus to be smart and “living lab” by closely collaboration with academic units on realizing decarbonization researches and new technologies at PolyU campus, and cultivating a green living culture in the University Community. He is also the secretary for Campus Carbon Neutrality Committee which monitors and guides the University towards carbon neutrality by 2045. In addition, he has been working closely with other Universities in Hong Kong on setting joint-university carbon neutral targets and strategies and sitting as a co-chair of Sustainable Performance Working Group of Hong Kong Sustainable Campus Consortium (HKSCC).Prior to joining PolyU, he was a Technical Services & Sustainability manager with Hongkong Land and responsible for Sustainability management and developing a Net Zero road map with scientific approaches. He was the secretary for Group Sustainability Steering Committee and drove sustainable development within HKL Group. Before that, he was a Team Leader of Building Sustainability in an international consultancy firm, Arup for Sustainable community development, green and smart building design and certification.He has been active in serving the professional and green business communities with his expertise, including Hong Kong Green Building Council, BEAM Society Limited, Business Environment Council, US Green Building Council and Green Building Certification Institute.
