About Mike Johnston, Cpht-Adv

I am on a mission to improve medication safety and patient care through advancing the role of pharmacy technicians.I am all about results...being known for delivering on ambitious visions. I am a hands-on executive with more than two decades of experience successfully leading teams through start-ups, business growth strategies, product launches, turnarounds, strategic alliances and legislative advocacy. I am most well known as the Founder and CEO of the National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA), the largest professional organization representing pharmacy technicians. Although we represent over 80,000 pharmacy technicians today, our beginnings were humble; I started off with just 3 members in Houston, TX in 1999. So, as I said...I am on a mission to improve medication safety and patient care through advancing the role of pharmacy technicians - including establishing regulatory standards, education and increased utilization of pharmacy technicians.
