1. Closed cycle cryostat(CCR) building for resistivity and thermopower measurements• Designed vacuum chambers and heat radiation shields. Connected the vacuum system with Pfeiffer turbo pump stations. Successfully kept the vacuum to high vacuum level, promoted CCR’s best performance to 2.5 K.• Design and built the electric circuit of both resistivity and thermopower measurement systems• Designed and wrote LabView programs to control the experiments processes. Built Measurement option extensions on Quantum Design Physics Properties Measurement System(PPMS) - Set up and made delicate cables to connect 3 pairs of current source and nano-voltmeters with the PPMS inner built 12 pin electric circuit- Designed and wrote a LabView program with the measurement capacity of resistivity, Hall effect, and magneto-resistance. Successfully promoted the measurement resolution from microvolts to nano volts2. Nernst effect measurement system• Build the Nernst effect measurement system sample holder• Used a temperature controller to apply a constant heat flow on samples and read the environment temperature• Designed and wrote a LabView program that controls the experimentprocess and calculates then plots results automatically.3.
