Ryan is an accomplished Software Engineer with expertise in Java, Python, Mongo, and SQL. Since October 2023, he has been working at Allstate Northern Ireland, where he has gained significant experience and certifications in the insurance technology sector. Ryan has earned certifications in Guidewire ClaimCenter, including Guidewire Certified Associate - Insurance Suite Developer and Guidewire Certified Specialty - ClaimCenter Configuration. In his role, he primarily works on the ClaimCenter system for processing Auto and Property Insurance claims, which has given him extensive experience with the Gosu coding language, used extensively in the Guidewire platform.Ryan holds a BSc in Computer Science with Professional Experience from Queen's University Belfast, where he honed his technical skills and developed a passion for software development. During his academic journey, Ryan undertook a challenging final year individual project that showcased his problem-solving abilities and technical prowess. He developed an algorithmic solution to assign students their preferred final year projects within the Computer Science department. The project aimed to maximize student satisfaction by assigning as many students as possible to their desired projects while considering the constraints that supervisors could only oversee a limited number of students. To accomplish this, Ryan created a robust REST API as the backend using Python, whilst providing an intuitive frontend using the REACT framework.In addition to his academic achievements, Ryan brings valuable industry experience from his one-year internship at iManage LLC, where he served as a Backend Software Engineer. During this time, he further refined his skills in Python, Mongo, and SQL while contributing to the development of backend systems. Ryan also had the opportunity to collaborate with the Quality Assurance department, gaining expertise in test planning and conducting smoke tests for final version releases.
