Performed techniques such as mammalian cell culturing, RNA isolation and quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. Our studies found a correlation between Basigin and Toll-Like Receptor-4 during an innate immune response. We expanded the study by analyzing the expression levels of Monocarboxylate Transporter-1 in metabolic processes during similar immune responses.  My research abstract was published in The FASEB Journal. It was also presented at the Experimental Biology 2019 Meeting, University of North Florida’s 2018 SOARS (Showcase of Osprey Advancements in Research and Scholarship), as well as the University of North Florida’s 2018 Senior Seminar.
