After joining Compass in 2011, I worked my way through the ranks starting as a Project Manager continually gaining responsibility while working to establish trust and confidence in my leadership. Now, as Senior Vice President, I primarily focus on our construction operations spending my time working closely with our field teams to ensure Compass’ mission of quality, consistency, and transparency form our Client’s experience. I have worked to strengthen Compass’ founding principles of strong culture, teamwork, and excellence in our work product. After returning home to Seattle, I joined Intracorp Real Estate’s Seattle office as a Construction Manager in their Townhome Division. The autonomy of the field office allowed me to develop my own processes and standard operational best practices as I navigated the often unstructured and unsophisticated field of residential construction. I wore many other hats without the official title, gaining valuable experience in design development, estimating, contract administration, scheduling, quality control, safety, & warranty. I learned to depend on the relationships I was developing and discovered that reliable trade partners coupled with an organized and meaningful project schedule and constant attention to quality were keys to successful project delivery. I oversaw the construction of hundreds of townhome units for Intracorp and took personal ownership of the quality standards of each and every unit like it was my own home. My time at Intracorp came to end in 2010 with the housing market collapse. I left with a sense of pride in my accomplishments and lasting contributions to their organization.

I started my career as a Field Engineer assigned to the Los Angeles Metro Gold Line design-build light rail extension. Completed in July 2003, the project runs along an existing rail right-of-way from Los Angeles to Claremont and extends 13.7 miles from Union Station in downtown Los Angeles to serve the communities of Los Angeles, Chinatown, Lincoln Heights, Highland Park, South Pasadena and Pasadena. The project included six new stations in Los Angeles, one in South Pasadena and six in Pasadena. Other project elements included a 230-foot pedestrian bridge spanning the Interstate 210 freeway; seismic retrofit of the Madre Street undercrossing of the freeway; two cut-and-cover tunnels; and more than three miles of retaining walls. Twenty-eight local street intersections were also reconfigured.My responsibilities included planning, coordinating, testing, and commissioning the transit signal system, which included 14 rail siding control switches, 26 grade crossings and several quad gates. Additional work involved installing 10 traction power substations, 31 miles of auto-tensioned overhead catenary, and communications and data gathering facilities. I also managed the entire multi-thousand item Owner punch list across the entirety of the 14-mile alignment and 13 stations before turning the project over to the Transit Authority.
