-Manage gas and oil assets during a time of historically low commodity prices and have reduced operating expenses each year and offset field declines through projects across all disciplines. -Lead and Execute 20-30 projects/quarter and $12,800,000/year budget across many engineering disciplines: facilities, reservoir, completions; and across many different resource plays: Unconventional Montney, Spirit River group, Waterflood in light oil pools, and both foothills and other unconventional natural gas.-Evaluate and construct financial models on competitor’s assets. Acquired assets and added additional profit through Waterflood optimization and cost savings initiatives.-Extensive experience using various oil field programs: Geoscout, Accumap, Mosaic, Prodview, Petrolook, PmSuite, Microsoft Project, XSPOC, S-Rod, Zed-i, Tableau, PI Processbook, Piper, Virtuwell and Harmony. -Experience with JV negotiations with 3rd party producers to process their gas, oil and dispose of water at existing battery sites. Experience with CO+O's, processing agreements and JP-05 fee calculations.-Executed a $4,000,000 integrity budget to reduce and prevent asset integrity risks. This involves implementing sand management plans and understanding production chemistry in existing assets.-Added revenue through a project to better market our gas volumes by flow splitting between AB and BC. Finding value in the pricing differentials between STN2-AECO markets. -Project managed a $26,000,000 facility expansion to handle Montney gas production. Worked closely with facilities and process engineering, and with Senior VP to attract 3rd party volumes. -Have been involved with CNRL’s United Way campaign each year of employment in Calgary. These activities include annual sandwich making, food drives, Teddy Bear Drive, and the Adopt a Senior program.
Production Technologist
-Responsible for well servicing, re-completion and optimization projects in Fort St. John, project budgets ranging from $25,000 to $1,000,000. -Executed ~30 projects per quarter. Work involved programming and running Workover operations for service rig jobs, coil tubing work, acid stimulations, recompletions, slickline work, well swabbing, ESP and PCP installs and other production initiatives. -Managed wellsite consultants to run our operations. Ensured they’re up to date on tickets and competent in their role.-Worked with Fort St John Asset Integrity group to identify at risk pipelines and faculties then develop both long-term and short-term mitigation strategies to control those risks.
Oilfield Operator
-Operated 900 bopd and 5500 mcfd gas in a sour field north of Fort St. John. This included operation of gas compressors, gas dehydration, inlet separators and various pumps and heat mediums unit within an oil battery facility and multiple satellites. Dealt with the challenges operations faces day-to-day has made me into a more skilled and well-rounded engineer. -Saved $25k to $150k on several wells by working with engineering to diagnose and solve well issues. Showed ability to perform tasks that increased well reliability and solve well problems.-Involved in continuous improvement of existing properties. This included gas & oil well optimization, identifying where pipeline pigging frequency added production, and troubleshooting production equipment to avoid downtime.
Process Engineering Student
-Completed a critical study report on issues with the sites amine unit. Was able to use both on-site analysis and external academic research to determine the problem and the best course of action. Suggested solutions for the issue including potential technologies and their respective vendors.-Was involved in day-to-day tasks for the sulfur plant technical support team. Critically evaluated potential and current problems within the sulfur plant. Helped edit existing P&ID’s for both existing and future projects and made potential design proposals. -Heavily involved with the sour water debottlenecking project, specifically tasked with going through all of the available process information and making recommendations.-Reviewed all current MOC’s and confirmed the design in the field. This involved editing any existing P&ID’s that had discrepancies between the proposed design and what actually was installed.
Facilities Engineering Summer Student
-Responsible for helping a senior engineer manage pipeline projects in SE Saskatchewan. This involved the organization of facilities and pipeline projects, creating and editing new projects and AFE’s, drafting project drawings, field visits to red-line drawings and verifying MOCs.-Involved in battery and pipeline design and development for both a major Waterflood project and oil battery project.-Involved in the licensing various facilities projects with MER. I was able to start-up an effective method of organizing and applying for facility licenses along with a step-by-step process to do so.
