Designed, tested, and implemented vehicle control algorithms for GM electric vehicle charging applications (Chevy Volt, Cadillac CT6, and Chevy Bolt). -Reduced in-vehicle controls design/testing iterations by more than 50% and improved first-time quality with the development of a Model-in-the-Loop simulation technique. -Decreased charge session error cases by >25% by identifying and resolving plug-in-charging incompatibility issues for the Chevy Bolt DC Fast Charging feature. Corrections enabled charging applications to meet start-of-production timing.-Provided feedback to automotive standards organizations including SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), and ISO (International Organization for Standardization) on charging standards and ensured GM vehicles met determined industry requirements.-Developed supplier component technical specifications for Tier 1 automotive suppliers; collaborated with suppliers on development issues. -Led advanced technical projects including developing and maintaining functional requirements for vehicle controls software and development of a standard test plan for vehicle charging interoperability testing.

Calibrated and tested control algorithms for electric vehicle battery state of charge estimation and power prediction.-Completed battery cell characterization testing and battery state control calibration for four leading GM electrification programs (Chevy Volt, Malibu Hybrid, Silverado e-Assist, and Bolt). -Utilized Hardware in the Loop simulation for battery high voltage testing, assessing vehicle control algorithm performance, and performing data analysis.-Assessed vehicle control algorithm performance using MATLAB/Simulink simulation.
