I work as a Biomechanical Engineer to test and validate the use of our IMU and Surface Mechanomyography (sMMG) sensors for musculoskeletal applications. This means I interact with different forms of musculoskeletal technology daily including motion capture, electromyography (EMG), and force measures. Our sensors provide high quality joint angle and muscle.

I performed research with fellow students under Dr. Buckley on mouse chondrocyte rupture after impact. Our focus is to study the implications of cell repair and the effect it may have. Experiments involve the dissection and preparation of chondrocytes, and the subsequent analysis of those cells after impact using image slicing and MATLAB to estimate cell.

I worked as a bench technician at Highland Hospital to manually troubleshoot and repair infusion pumps. The position stressed organization through documentation of repair and tests problem solving skills with hands on biomedical device experience.

I worked with a small group for ConMed to improve ACL reconstructive surgery outcomes. Our project focus was to determine the ideal tension for an individual’s graft based on influential factors like activity level, gender, and age. A secondary goal for this project was to develop a tensioning device for surgeons to utilize to apply this tension.

I Shadowed research on the effects of physical exercise in teens recovering from acute concussions. I Helped conduct cognitive testing for patients in the study. We used instruments for testing including a BIOPAC system as well as electrocardiogram, a spirometer, and a Transcranial Doppler.

As an intern at UBS, I created analytical spreadsheets with Excel using simple algorithms to sort client data. This helped provide upper level management a basis to best allocate their clients’ funds. I also compiled individual meeting booklets for clients containing pertinent information on their portfolios and possible acquisitions. Overall, I gained.
