In the process of redefining WHAT I do, after a long time spent reflecting on WHY I do it. Currently: I pivoted during 2021, and building on 8 years of volunteering as a technical rescue specialist within mountain rescue, I’m now an Emergency Medical Technician in the NHS. I am due to qualify as a paramedic in early 2025. I have special interests in human factors and crew resource management in the expedition and pre-hospital environments. This has led me to blending my two alter-egos of medicine and expedition, and so I also I work as a freelance expedition medic alongside being a member of teaching faculty on wilderness and expedition medicine courses for registered healthcare professionals.Previously: I was a BAFTA and Emmy nominated, multi-award winning cinematographer and internationally published documentary photographer, working in wildlife and science documentaries for the likes of the BBC Natural History Unit, Netflix, Disney and and National Geographic. A particular specialist in arctic, high-altitude and extreme environments, I filmed the crossover between the natural world and people, specialising in covering stories of positive engagement, conservation and cutting edge field science across species and geographic boundaries.
