I worked in Dr. Jian Shi's research group, studying the synthesis & characterization of various functional materials and their use in engineering devices. Over my time with the group, I worked on projects in collaboration with organizations such as the PARADIM crystal growth facility at John's Hopkins and Corning Inc., as part of their Undergraduate Research Scholar program. Projects included the study of thermally and electrically driven phase transformations in halide perovskites, solution-based synthesis of continuous thin films, and characterization on in-plane ferroelectricity in 2D niobium oxyhalide.

I worked with Dr. Rahmi Ozisik for a summer, learning to perform joint density functional theory (JDFT) methods to simulate properties of polymer nanocomposites. I learned the basics of quantum ab initio simulation methods, along with how to use JDFTx software and a Linux operating system.

During a semester away from RPI, I worked as a research intern performing technical and commercial analysis of brazing as well as technical and legal analysis on the state of thermoelectric technology. Findings were reported to supervisors through weekly status updates and a final whitepaper report on each topic, which were used to advise company leadership on the technical decisions related to both topics. For over two years, I worked at the front desk of my local library. I help patrons locate and check out material as well as helping them register for library cards, library events, and passport appointments. I checked material back in, unpack various deliveries from other libraries, and maintained order in the library & the system it operates on.

I worked as part of a team to inspect, clean, and provide minor to middle difficulty repairs on all types of band and orchestra instruments in order to prepare them to be rented out to school at the start of the year. I was also in charge of keeping the store in order and monitor completed and ongoing projects.

As a Student Partner, I served as an on-campus resource for students using WileyPLUS software for the first time. I provide technical support, held office hours, and give presentations on how to properly use and get the most out of the WileyPLUS program.
