Responsible for identifying, developing, and leading projects to implement new processes that improve safety, quality, and productivity. Research and implement new equipment to improve safety and eliminate waste. Develop the vision for “future-state” assembly lines and lead continuous improvements projects that drive toward that vision. Develop, maintain, and work on improvement projects for facility layouts world-wide.

Responsible for leadership of the maintenance department, including 1 Supervisor and 23 Hourly associates across 3 shifts. Maintain buildings, grounds, facilities, and production equipment for 2 locations. Manage budget for staffing, facilities, and maintenance expenses. Responsible for planning and managing capital investments in facility repairs and improvements. Set the vision and drive to improve maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.

Create and maintain a safe working environment, and actively participate in plant safety events, committees, and activities. Ergonomic resource for the department. Develop and maintain all operational processes and practices related to brazing and soldering. Lead projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and kaizen events to increase productivity in the Brazing department while maintaining a safe work environment. Develop and implement new equipment and processes by working with internal and external resources. Own reports for the brazing department productivity and present information at daily KPI meetings. Manage and coach engineering assistants. Maintain department layout.

Led disciplined problem-solving activities and took appropriate action to contain, resolve and implement permanent corrective action for quality issues. Evaluated and dispositioned non-conformances found in finished goods audits. Led and supported multiple projects to implement new equipment. Utilized mistake proofing and robust design interventions to prevent problems from occurring. Performed advanced quality planning activities, including participation in design reviews and FMEAs, authoring and managing control plans and shop floor quality documents. Conducted quality audits on products and processes.

Supervised 30 associates including Support Personnel, Operators, a Team Coordinator, and a Sr. QA Technician. Identified, investigated, prioritized, and implemented multiple concurrent process improvement projects to drive customer satisfaction and business productivity. Conducted problem solving on production issues such as machine, computer, personnel, product and raw material issues so that down time was minimized and lead times were maintained. Tested, analyzed results, and reported findings on raw materials and finished goods. Testing purposes include NPD, comfort studies, competitive studies, developing certificates of compliance for CPSC standards, product specification development, and confirmation of compliance with industry and/or Acushnet Company standards. Performed supplier audits at factories of suppliers, reported results, and trained supplier personnel on best QA practices.

Managed three Quality Technicians. Performed standard testing on raw materials and finished goods. Developed tests for specific issues not covered by standardized testing. Conducted supplier audits. Created and maintain finished goods inspection and customer returns information databases. Assisted and provided backup for the Production and Quality Manager. Troubleshoot quality and production issues for customization of gloves and apparel. Developed and worked on process improvement projects. Developed and maintained a database for collecting and reporting production data.
